Gayatri/Rajapatni Mother of Tribhuwana Tungga Dewi Queen Majapahit Kingdom


Gayatri is the wife of the fourth Raden wijaya majapahit first king (1293-1309). Nagarakretagama mention, Raden Wijaya married four daughters Kertanagara Singasari last king,which holds Tribhuwaneswari, Narendraduhita, Prajnyaparamita,Rajapatni(Gayatri). Raden Wijaya was also having a wife from the kingdom in Sumatra Dharmasraya named Dara Petak (Indreswari). Of the five wives, who gave only offspring Dara Petak and Gayatri. From Dara Petak born Jayanagara, while the Gayatri was born Tribhuwana Tunggadewi and Dyah Wiyah Rajadewi. Tunggadewi Tribhuwana is then lowered further Majapahit kings. Raden Wijaya died in 1309 and replaced by his son, namely Jayanagara. In 1328 Jayanagara killed Ra Tanca. According Nagarakretagama, Gayatri was already a Buddhist priest. She then ordered her daughter, namely Tribhuwana Tunggadewi took the throne in 1329 to replace Jayanagara who do not have offspring. In 1350, Tribhuwana Tunggadewi abdicate the throne along with the death of Gayatri. Source.
